LISC is offering a 3-day short course to provide you with an understanding of: the importance of data management; the research data lifecycle; the organisation, documentation and long-term curation of research data.
LISC student Thomas Matingwina was awarded his Doctor of Philosophy degree at the UCT graduation ceremony in June. This is a first for the LISC department in its current form. We congratulate Thomas on his achievement, and we hope that this is the first of many PhDs to emerge from our growing and dynamic department.
The Spilhaus and Buyskes bursaries for LISC PGDip students have been awarded to Zera Day and Bonga Siyothula, respectively.
Two of our PhD students were acknowledged for research excellence at the UCT Research Week Postgraduate Research Expo.
