Dr Constance Bitso
Dr Connie Bitso is a senior lecturer at the Library and Information Studies Centre, University of Cape Town (UCT). She obtained her PhD in Information Science from the University of Pretoria and Master’s degree from UCT. She is an ontology and metadata specialist at LISC currently teaching Information Architecture and Metadata; Knowledge Organisation and Management as well as Resource Description and Communication. With her knowledge of education and teaching background, she leads her department in the emerging knowledge and skills domain of teaching and learning for LIS professionals. She supervises postgraduate students in areas of her research interest which include guided inquiry design; knowledge management; metadata; information literacy; social media and information seeking behaviour. Her publications include international and local journal articles; a chapter in a book and papers presented in various international conferences.
